Acupuncture
What is it?
Acupuncture is the insertion of fine, sterile, single-use needles into specific points on the body for therapeutic purposes.
What can it treat?
It is particularly useful for the relief of pain, especially in muscles and joints. It can work with other methods to reduce stress, anxiety, depression and addiction. The World Health Organisation supports the use of acupuncture for a very wide range of conditions including nausea, allergies, headache and migraine, arthritis and gastro-intestinal disorders.
Is it safe?
Acupuncture is very safe for most people. The advantage of being treated by a registered health professional is that you will be properly assessed and advised on whether it is suitable for you.
